Ten Modern Black & Brass Light Fixtures I Am Loving Right Now
This week I shared a little (and new favorite) “nook” in my own home. I was looking to add a little drama to the space and create the perfect transition from our shared family space to our primary bedroom. And for me, it started with changing out the boring “boob” light. In honor of this mini transformation, I am introducing this blog and a new series called “Curated”, starting with my favorite black + brass lights which inspired the space, including the one we ended up using!
Selecting lighting for my clients is one of my favorite parts of the design process. It provides instant gratification and can change the vibe of the space, and it is a great way of bringing your personality to a room.
It’s no secret that brass hardware is trending at the moment. I love mixing it with black to create a modern, yet timeless look. Whether you are looking to update an older home or upgrade builder-grade lighting, these lights are going to “brighten” up your day (pun intended). Enjoy!

Textured Globe Flushmount This is the light we used in the space, I love the texture of the globe. It comes with the bulb!
Orion Chandelier This light is a STUNNER. This is another light used in my own home. It is so elegant and really provides some drama in the entryway.
Marble Dish Sconce This light would be so lovely as a pair flanking a staircase or fireplace. The marble texture is a unique finish.
Conical Drum Shade I just used this light in a project. (Stay tuned for the reveal!) It comes in a few colors and two sizes and it’s a good budget-friendly option!
Double Globe Sconce I am a big fan of mid-century modern, and this sconce is a classic in my opinion. IT could be used horizontally or vertically or as a pair on a vanity.
Mesh Reading Light Slightly industrial, slightly MCM, it’s the perfect light for a bedside table or reading nook.
Bolo Globe Pendant Someone, PLEASE let me design your bathroom with this light. I love the oversized, clean lines of this beauty!
Black “Cup” Light The marble texture on this light really drew me in. This light can used as a flush mount or a sconce. A girl has to have her options!
4 Globe Light This is another great MCM ceiling light, which would be great in a small office or bedroom.
Opal “Tube” Sconce Having a nod to a classic with a modern twist, this one can used horizontally or vertically.
